Sparky's Place Restaurant at 24646 Florida 40, Astor, Florida.

Overall the food was barely marginally acceptable for the price. Service staff was friendly and the place was clean. However waiting 30 min for a sandwich is unacceptable. When I placed my order for their Ruben sandwich and fries, there was only 2 maybe 3 of their approximate 12 tables with people at them. Of whom all had ordered. Twenty minutes later, other tables began to be sat and still no food for me or the other tables that had been there before me.

The sandwich finally arrived and I must admit it looked good. The fries looked particularly appetizing so I tried one of them first... Lukewarm and mildly soggy faint taste of over filtered oil. The sandwich was next and it was at least warm enough to enjoy. While the sandwich had potential the corned beef seemed to come from a cheap deli and the marble rye while attractive to look at was over toasted and a bit stale.

I drive all over Florida and South Georgia for my work and I love stopping at mom and pop joints like this. With a solid review I have it a try and was less than satisfied. I gave a two star review because 1.5 stars is not an option. I only hope that the proprietor of this establishment reads the review and gives the kitchen staff some encouragement.
